Summer away days for schools

It’s that time of year when schools start planning their summer school trips and looking ahead to brighter days. The summer holidays are approaching and what better way to celebrate than taking your pupils out of the classroom and enjoying some sun in an educational setting. Have a look below on some of the attractions we’ve handpicked for you.

Stratford Butterfly Park

Rain or shine discover many of the world's most beautiful butterflies in an exotic environment of tropical blossom.

Hatton Adventure World

The tractor safari takes visitors on informative rides around the farm, watch amazing falconry demonstrations as stunning birds of prey take flight – you can even handle a hawk! There are trampolines, bouncy castles, the drop slide and the laser combat zone – a fun, strategy-building team game where children score points by ‘tagging’ the ‘enemy’ with harmless, infra-red light beams.

You can pay a visit to the Guinea Pig Village, home to 250 little bundles of joy waiting for a cuddle. Children’s shows take place throughout the day and there are regular informative talks about the animals by the friendly staff.

The Deep

One of the most spectacular aquariums in the world. This award-winning attraction is home to 3,500 fish including magnificent sharks and rays. The dramatic building, which overlooks the Humber estuary, was designed by world class architects, Sir Terry Farrell and Partners. It is just a short walk from The Deep into Hull Marina and the Museums Quarter.

Flamingo Land

Yorkshire's ultimate theme park attraction and the UK's most visited zoo and a luxury resort village for days out. There are regular handling sessions and talks by our zoo keepers, there’s sure to be something that’ll capture your imagination.

Scarborough Sea Life Sanctuary

Scarborough is a beautiful destination for a day out. Take a visit to the Sea Life Centre situated on the North Bay where you can enjoy meeting Humboldt penguins and come face to face with five different species of sharks.
