The Reopening of Countryside Attractions

Social distancing restrictions mean that many National Trust and English Heritage sites have been closed for the last couple of months. However, June is here and both organisations have announced plans to start reopening their sites this month, just in time for your summer adventurers.
National Trust protects 780 miles of coastline, 250,000 hectares of land and over 500 historic houses, castles, parks, and gardens. Already they have opened 200 of their coast and countryside car parks to start to bring visitors back to nature. They starting to reopen a small number of gardens and parklands. So, if you are looking for a day out this month be sure to see what places are open near you by visiting the National Trust website here. Please note you may need to book well in advance as slots are being quickly being taken.
You will not have to wait long to start visiting English Heritage sites either as they have announced plans to start its phased opening on June 13. If you are a member of English Heritage you will receive a notification with information on what sites are reopening and booking information. If you are not a member of English Heritage, please note they have already reopened around 200 of their free-to-enter sites including great historical landmarks like Iron Bridge and parts of Hadrian’s wall.
It is important to note that if you are traveling to a National Trust or English Heritage site that you should continue to follow social distancing restrictions set out by the Government. In addition, if you do have to book in advance make sure to stick to your time slot to maintain the safety standards implemented by the National Trust and English Heritage.
Now may be the time again to start enjoying what the English countryside, coasts and gardens have to offer.
