Safety Comes First

When traveling, the safety of yourself and passengers should always be the number one priority especially when it comes to children. However, research by the RAC has found that more than a fifth of parents and grandparents have admitted to not using a child car seat all of the time. It may not appear a big thing, but a child’s car seat can prevent serious injury and even death.

All children under 12 years old who are under 135cm in height must use a child car seat by law. The reason why car seats for children are so important is that adult seat belts are not designed for them. What this means is that the belt does not sit across the right parts of the child’s body and so it does not offer full protection in a crash and the seat belt itself can even cause injury to the child.

At Marshall Minibus we understand for those responsible for minibuses, safety is of paramount importance. Therefore, we have put together a few tips to keep the children safe in the unfortunate event of an accident.

Make sure you provide car seats for all passengers who legally need them. If you are having trouble fitting a car seat check if you can adjust the height of the normal seat belt to better fit child passengers. For those who are slightly older and do not require a children’s car seat, it is your responsibility to make sure they wear seat belts throughout the journey.

At Marshall Minibus safety always comes first. That is why we are always on hand to offer safety advice and guidance for your minibus journeys. To find out more about our school minibus leasing services visit our “Why Use Us” website page, or call us directly on 01480 220444.
