Olympic Games to inspire yet another generation of young athletes

Next month, Paris will host the 2024 Olympic Games on July 26 2024. 

The Olympics always provides an outlet for children of all backgrounds and abilities to express their passion for sport and inspires a new young generation of future athletes. 

As we all know, good role models are essential for children to thrive. Athletes fulfil diverse inspirational roles, whether a child is interested in sport or simply by showing their power to beat odds and overcome challenges through hard work and determination. 

Social enterprise Sports for Schools organises special events for students to meet top athletes such as David Thompson, Kelly Swim, Frederick Afrifa and Nerys Pearce. 

Recently Sports for Schools arranged for Olympic Bronze medalist Joel Fearon to visit a school in Leicestershire. The visit was covered by BBC CWR to highlight the impact role models such as Joel can have on a young person's life. You can listen to the radio clip here.
