Platinum Jubilee school resources by The Royal Collection Trust

This year, Her Majesty The Queen becomes the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.

In honour of The Queen’s 70th year of service since her ascension to the throne on February 6th 1952 and her coronation on June 2nd 1953, The Royal Collection Trust (RCT) is hosting a series of Platinum Jubilee school sessions at the eight official royal residences throughout the year, as well as a portfolio of classroom resources mostly aimed at Key Stage 1 through to 4.

PDF activity packs from the RCT include:

• Create a coronation portrait
• Royal routines and reflections
• Design a coronation robe
• And more!

You can also access ‘Royal recipes’ and fun challenges such as ‘Your own Royal garden party’.

The Monarchy and The Royal Family are integral pieces of the British identity, image and values both nationally and abroad. Learning about The Queen helps children to better understand the world in which they live, and the role which The Monarchy plays in modern society and government.
