The London Ultra Low Emission Zone is expanding on October 25th

As we know, the London Mayor is pushing for reduced vehicle emissions in the capital.

From October 25 2021, the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is expanding from Central London to create a single larger zone up to the North Circular Road (A406) and South Circular Road (A205). (The North and South circular roads themselves are not in the zone).

If you are running a minibus which is over 5 years old it is highly likely that it is not a Euro 6 vehicle which means that you will have to pay a charge of £12.50 in addition to any congestion zone charge. This could all add up to a large sum over time if your vehicle is entering the ULEZ zone on a frequent basis.

Euro 6 vehicles are manufactured to reduce the levels of harmful emissions including nitrogen oxide (NOx), carbon monoxide and particulates.

Transport for London wants people to upgrade to vehicles that meet ULEZ standards and recommends that “leasing a vehicle may be a more affordable way to get a vehicle that meets the emissions standards”.
